366. Poem by Jaden Knight

366.

We used to be more than friends
and shared a great deal
yet now we could walk past each other in the street
not saying a single word
no acknowledgement that we are there

I don't know how it happened
but the splits appeared without warning
couldn't repair them on your side
so the whole thing fell apart

We went our separate ways
and in a way I'm glad
it wasn't until later that I realised
just how much I'd missed out on

We used to be more than friends
but that was so long ago
I won't acknowledge you in the street
as you're just somebody I used to know
