.4. Different Goals Poem by David Threadgold

.4. Different Goals

Mountaintops covered with snow
Loch’s so dark and so deep
Craggy faces slimy with moss
Each both have secrets to keep

Climbers who risk all to conquer
Tall peaks and Tor’s are a many
Divers plunging to the depths
For treasures seeking out any

Frayed ropes lie badly discarded
Steel pegs are still wedged into place
Bubbles rise up to the surface
Masking and air tanks in place

One team is steadily rising
The other is sinking down low
Each have a goal they aspire to
That’s why they risk all where they go
