.4. Entertaining The Young Poem by David Threadgold

.4. Entertaining The Young

Rating: 5.0

One little boy I heard say to another
His ‘I pod’ had gone on the blink
Gone are the days of the large vinyl disk
Now in gigabyte heaven I think

Why is life changing and leaving behind
The old and ones slightly slow
Does anyone care if they’re missing a lot?
Don’t they have the same rights to know?

Large plasma screens brainwash millions
Our children are shown what they need
To follow the many is what they must do
If only the small print they’d read

Why not put away expense I pods
Let children run free in the park
Where muscles will grow playing ball games
And entertain all till its dark

They will all end up like robots David, not really thinking for themselves and having no imagination to play with. Such truths here and so sad that they are on this road. Enjoyed. Love and hugs Ernestine XXX
