.4. Seeing Is Believing Poem by David Threadgold

.4. Seeing Is Believing

Is an optical illusion what we just wish to see
Like cool water in a desert for your thirst
Is it true or is false, and who should hold the key
To decide the view, and who should see it first

Could we have the way of viewing, to suit the way we are
Like the volume when the sounds a little low
Maybe change the sharpness, if were looking from afar
Or alter speeds, and change the fast to slow

Should we be told it’s false, when it isn’t really true?
Or remember all the places we have been
Take in all that’s around us, in our memory to keep
Nothing missed recording everything we’ve seen

If illusions of our world, could be nothing but untrue
Distrusting colours, measurements and size
If the sky we see above us, is anything but blue
Look again, because you can’t believe your eyes
