433. Meeting With My Past Poem by Jaden Knight

433. Meeting With My Past

I met with my past on a mountain top
in order to make a truce
saw no point in fighting with it any longer
it was time to forget and move on

At first it wanted to be nice
being polite and friendly
but when it found out I wanted
it turned and rejected all my proposals

'You need me to stay' it cried
I made you who you are
you couldn't exist without my help
you would be nothing with put me'

'I have given that task another' I replied
'you should be left behind me where you belong
while you may have made me who I am
the future shall define what I will become'
