472. Poem by Jaden Knight

472.

My eye closed in self defence
when you tried to blind it with lies
thick lids shielding it from the damage would you cause
destined to open only 19 times in 7 years
before slamming closed again a short time later

For too long I could not see
and potential creations withered and died
never given a chance to exist
as they could not be seen

Then I snapped and cast you aside
and the eye opened in response
images started flooded in
things it could not understand
it struggled to adjust to the change at first
before becoming accustomed to the light

Now my eye is open wide
there is not much that is does not see
hopefully it will never close again
and will only get stronger than ever
