.5. Blue Love Poem by David Threadgold

.5. Blue Love

As blue birds fly high in a sky so clear
In my mind as I lay on my pillow
Chasing each other showing love that is dear
Above trees like the old weeping willow

In the distance two figures alone in a boat
Sail along at slow pace on a sea
To a land far away as in books that are wrote
Where they hope to let their love roam free

On the banks of a shore houses sit either side
Proud pagoda’s show signs of much wealth
Tall fences between cover areas wide
Keep out if you value your health

From the sea flows a river dividing each side
On a bridge are three figures in blue
It would seem love is out, leaving nowhere to hide
As should always be so if it’s true

So remember all you who would keep love apart
You won’t need fences, rivers or sea
Love cannot be killed when it comes from the heart
It’s too strong so please just let it be
