.5. No Excuses Please Poem by David Threadgold

.5. No Excuses Please

To many lame excuses
As another system fails
The government just scratch their head
Whilst coming off the rails

They look at one another
Like children with a toy
Knowing not what they must do
Who next they must employ

Why do things fail so often?
Did no one test them first?
Someone said its boom and bust
And now the bubbles burst

But these are just excuses
For things they should have done
Ask them for a reason
And I’m sure they’ll offer none

Any system works as well
As those employed to work it
But it’s easier to say it failed
When you let off those who shirk it
