.5. Will You Poem by David Threadgold

.5. Will You

Will you meet by the garden gate?
To help my roses bloom
Will you meet me in a darkened lounge?
To brighten up my room

Will you meet me by the river?
To help the rushes grow
Will you meet me when you read a book?
To teach me what you know

Will you meet me by the bus stop?
To help me into town
Will you meet me in the afternoon?
To watch the sun go down

Will you meet me in the evening?
To share our cosy bed
Will you meet me when my volumes gone
To tell me what’s been said

Will you meet me by the fireside?
To warm us when it’s cold
Will you meet me in our twilight years?
To love me when we’re old
