They say the eyes are the windows to the soul
but you had put the shutters up
bolting them securely closed
thinking that everything was protected properly

The light within you was not to be denied
continuing to show between the gaps
eventually burning through your slats
leaving only charred ruins in their place

Your attempts to hide and disguise have failed
as your true nature will always shine through
the more you try to deny yourself
the greater the fire inside will blaze

The eyes are windows to the soul
but it not is not just one way
allowing your spirit to see for itself
is another great way to learn and grow
