I would cross the oceans for you
in a little wooden boat I built myself
never fearing if the seas be rough
yet you won't travel down an aisle for me
I would write three tall mountains of poetry for you
every line and verse as perfect as I could get them
reading them out until i can speak no more
but you fear to say those two words to me
I would speak the greatest truths for you
and share with you the purest honesty
ever to be straight yet tactful
but you can only lie to me
I would become the greatest smith for you
fashioning items of exquisite beauty
silver, gold and even platinum with diamonds
yet you refuse to wear a single ring
There is so much that I am willing to do
that I am prepared to teach you and share
despite all this I cannot make you see
you seem to want to be blind to me
