I remember she noticed
How I looked at my date,
“They are in love, ”
She said,
And we were
At that moment
But I’ve had eyes
Like that before,
Yearning,
Hoping to feel
Something,
And still
Wanting
True love
I want to let go,
Relax,
Lie surrounded
In warmth and joy
Kindness and trust
And give back
The same support
And tenderness
I want to caress your cheek
And move your hair to
Peer deep into your eyes
Beyond the white crescents
And glassy reflection,
Deep into you,
Where we become
One heart, one soul, one body-
Speaking with no words,
Understanding
Without thinking,
Lips drawn together,
Kissing
Unaware,
Shallow
Breathing,
Chest rising
And bodies
Tangled,
In some beautiful
Human ballet…
I want a love that lasts a lifetime
And beyond…
