A Blunder We Should Ponder. Poem by Nabakishore Dash

Uninsulated live electric wire,
a poisonous snake's tail,
the flame of fire,
the dirt in dumping yard,
put our lives at risk when
we touch them.
Does the same happens
when we touch a man from
different caste, colour and religion?
The answer is never ever same.

Mud, stone, wood, metals,
trees, flowers, air, light, water
give us a flash of Divine,
all around us in nature.
But we fail to feel His existence
in Dalits when biology
is similar,
what a contrast! ,
how we diverge and differ.

Blood donation,
Organ transplantation,
Sexual gratification,
Money transaction,
Grain production,
Labour engagement,
make no diffrence.
But marriage,
cooking and eating together
consider them untouchable
and erect profound influence.

Let us ponder, smash the
wall of discrimination by
fighting against it tooth and nail.
Our society must take this challenge with breakneck speed
to benefit all.
