A Brief Pause In Time Poem by David Wood

A Brief Pause In Time

Rating: 5.0

Minds in reflection
On past history
Of shredded paper
Well-loved books now read

Of fresh blank pages
A wide-open road
Minds caped in deep fog
Just waiting to clear

Of that sweet blank page
Softly spoken words
About to be spilt
Waiting to be said

One chapter closing
With a gentle sigh
Another's faint glow
Waiting to appear

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
2017 was a year of fake news and angry words and misunderstandings. It affects politician to poets alike, nobody is immune. Many words were said, or ‘spilt', with good intention from minds caped in fog. I hope 2018 starts with a sweet blank page and continues with softly spoken words throughout the year, the world needs it.

Your advice is timely and expressively conveyed but we are living in a 'foggy' world. Thanks David.

Very nicely written! Verses filled with wisdom. I think 2017 was a bit of a wake up call for good people.
