'' A Broken Heart Mends '' Poem by Bri Mar

'' A Broken Heart Mends ''

Our family called pets,
Can be much maligned,
They bring joy and regrets,
Yet with us they're aligned.

When a loved one dies,
We feel such pain,
Do not chastise,
We've lost part of a chain.

It was only a dog!
Why are you grieving?
She was my log,
My love was undying.

Enough of that,
No need for sorrow,
Get another cat,
Do it tomorrow.

What's all the hype,
The cynic will say,
Regardless of type,
Our love is two-way.

Be it a pet or a child,
A Father or Mother,
They have us beguiled,
We adore one another.

Pets are our treasure,
They're like family and friends,
They give us such pleasure,
True love never ends,

Do try to be kind,
For there's no denying,
It's far more refined,
Yes, and so satisfying.

Your sympathy, don't ration,
To healing it lends,
By showing compassion,
