A Celebration On India Winning The Cricket World Cup 2011 Poem by Mohammad Akmal Nazir

A Celebration On India Winning The Cricket World Cup 2011

Rating: 3.0

The day was really a boon for them
Which suppressed their hunger and pain
Amidst the pleasure of victory
They had little money for food
But they spent it buying fire crackers
To celebrate the victory.
The next day they will experience the same agony
But for whom they sacrificed their money
And remained hungry
They will earn billions and billions
And look at them with scorn.

Even when times are at worst there is a need/requirement to celebrate life. Not something you can truly appreciate unless you have been there. It gives insight into the illusions we create to believe everything is alright even when it is not. The poorest of mankind can be rich and happy even if only for the moment. All so true and conveyed so well. A 10 from me.

Interesting insights into the ambivalent feelings of our heroes. Well written, well done.
