A Cell Phone Is Not A Gun Poem by Hebert Logerie

A Cell Phone Is Not A Gun

A cell phone is not a gun
Peanuts are not bullets
Do not shoot, if you're not sure
Stop being criminal and cruel
A toddler might be behind the door
Stop being cruel and criminal
A sick elderly might be rocking the chair
A young girl might be combing her hair
A cell phone is not a deadly weapon
Do not shoot like that in the open
Do not open fire, our beautiful children
Are playing outside. Leave the deadly gun
In the holster. Stop, stop the violence
Avoid confrontation, a de-escalate the situation
Be careful. Be sensitive to the neighborhood
Bring love, peace, and lots of food
Too many bystanders are dying for no reason
Needlessly; this is not open season
STOP, stop, and stop shooting once and for all
And let our children live to grow smart and tall
Stop, stop right now
Yes, you sure know how.
