A Chance Not Taken Poem by Carita Blodgett

A Chance Not Taken

Rating: 4.6

A part of you just wants to be free
You know it to be the same with me

A part of me Knows this cannot be
But it's the pain that makes this hard to see

A part of you wants to see this through
Could you be the one I can turn to?

A part of me know this love to be true
Will you pay the cost of what you do?

A part of you wants to put up the fight
To say screw them all and everything in sight

A part of me knows you would be right
Could I follow a new path? I just might

A part of you will sing a sad song
Where does a love like this truely belong?

A part of me knows you are gone
And with out you I can still be strong

Because our love once set us free
I now lay here with a part of you in me.

A saddened ending though the poem is ingrained with deep and heartfelt emotions that somehow show your emptiness...... But one has to move on in life...... Best Wishes Sameer

Couldn’t understand, how could that be? It’s as clear as glass and well written. Great job, Adeline

This is a great, great writing. The problem I had is the problem I usually have with something like this. It just isn't 'crystal clear'. Because of that, I gave it a nine. In terms of quality writing though, it is a ten all the way. GW62

Very profound. A part of all of us asks these same questions. And do we ever really know the answers? I think it all comes down to a giant leap of faith. Well written - deeply introspective. Linda

Very powerful poem. I think this piece is well written. I think this is a good poem to convey feelings of sacrifice..
