A Child Is A Gift Poem by louis rams

A Child Is A Gift

Through love making children are born, and if out
Of wedlock the woman is scorned.
Who gives anyone the right to judge others and would
You accept it if it was your father or mother?
Would you put your mother down for having you
And who gives you the right to judge her too.
But a bond has been created that can't be explained
As the woman feels the love, aches and pains
She'll rub her stomach and talk to the child in silence
Or out loud, for she is a mother and feeling so proud.
It matters not if it is a boy or girl who will enter into this world.
For the Lord said: " let he who has never sinned be the first
To throw a stone "
What would have happened if Mary and Joseph had not wed
Would Mary have been stoned until she was dead!
Then there would have been no Savior, no salvation
Just sinful temptation.
No laws, no religion, no commandments to be given.
That gift of life, that gift of love is sent to us fromGOD above.
