A Clay Pot Poem by Doris Cornago

A Clay Pot

Rating: 5.0

Scouring through caves
Two strangers came upon
A clay pot of sealed top

Fortune inside unknown
Whose share is bigger
Whose effort comes more

Should sharing be done
According to what's won
From heart's desire reknown

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
The poem's meaning is that we will not be worthy of what we seek unless we have sorted out what we truly need from this life, and having done that, anything that we find in our search will be worth more than that we find, and accordingly, the search will be complete without even finding that treasure. This is a simplified story-poem in the form of a puzzle, taking a respite from convoluted poems as my man begged me to and told me he cannot keep pace. I share with all as the memory and emotions linked with it are too precious to hide beneath a stone.
