In the morning when I wake up
I'm groggy, still tired and not at ease,
The first words that come to my tongue
I ask for a cup of coffee, please.
When I take the dogs for a walk
I smell that one aroma coming through the breeze,
A smile quickly then appears on my face
As a cup of coffee is ready for me, please.
When I'm outside in the cold
And my hands feel like they're getting ready to freeze,
I will breathe warmth into my hands
Then I ask for a cup of coffee, please.
Before I ever mow the grass
Before I ever rake the yard or trim the trees,
I walk to my employer and then I always say
May I have a cup of coffee, please.
When I am ever worried or stressed out
With me everyone just disagrees,
I then go to the local drive thru
And then I ask for a cup of coffee, please.
When riches comes my way
When I receive promises and solemn guarantees,
While I wear a well deserved smile on my face
In celebration I get a cup of coffee, please.
When I am tired, worn out and sleepy
And a weakness is felt in my knees,
But, I still need to get some work done
So then I seek and I ask for a cup of coffee, please.
