A Dark Storm Begins Poem by Tracey Owens

A Dark Storm Begins

The skies are dark on a
A Friday afternoon.
The wind picks up and
The leaves begin to scatter.
Windchimes begin to play
Their tune of loud sound.
The neighbors begin to
Shut the windows and doors.
Children hurry and get inside.
Raindrops begin to fall on
The porch and ground.
A stronger wind begins
To blow with this new
Release of rain drops.
The rain becomes harder
And soon the yard becomes
Unseen from so heavy of a rain.
The storm sets in for nightfall
And continues throughout the night.
Night is dark, but with the storm there
Is no sign of any light close by.
With the storm, a new day approaches.
The storm disappears and the new day begins.
