A Day At The Beach Poem by Billy Loving

A Day At The Beach

Waves crashing on the beach
While in my chair I recline
For a cool refreshing drink I reach
To wash away the sea's misty brine
Children playing in the receding sea
Merrily frolicking here and there
Grinning faces beaming with glee
Of life's struggles temporally unaware
Grasping a handful of sand
Between my fingers the warm grains slip
As darkness starts to cover the land
An end soon to come to this trip
Time has ticked away so fast
Moments like this, too briefly do they last
