A Daydream In The Cavern Of Aliases Poem by Raj Dronamraju

A Daydream In The Cavern Of Aliases

In the time it takes to blink an eye
The naked ape puts up spectacle as protest
You know who I am, I am weaponized identity and unadorned trademark freedom

You hug me close and I retreat from excellence
Surrender to the aspiration to be a face without filters
Who enters my fantasy as me in day to day existence

Dank setting of continual performance
Brand oneself in daily effort to fit survival scene
The real me is dream landscape non-reliance

The cave where I am assigned, I fit only a certain kind of hole
Today, I drift into rectangular visions and laugh quietly
It echoes of honesty in a place where honesty is seen as weakness
