A Deal Of Darkness Poem by Kehinde Omotosho

A Deal Of Darkness

Night in the valleys of shadows
The darkness engulfing me
Way lost and stuck in the dark caves
Unable to flee from the suffering
Neither from the darkness itself
I hungered and thirsted for freedom
But they were long gone
Perhaps I strayed away from them
Oh! how I used to love the darkness
But now I'm running from it
Fearing that it'd consume my soul
I was never saved from it
Took me time to realize
That there was no way out
When you'd made a deal with the king of hell
Nothing he gives for nothing
And in the end he eats up your soul
And makes you his for eternity.
