Kehinde Omotosho Poems

You said you'd be gone
Only for a while
It's been years
Yet you haven't returned
...

The day turned black
The earth shook
The sun disappeared
The moon was bleeding
...

Oh my lover,
In her bosom I want to rest,
In her arms I want to sleep,
Her fragrance I want to smell,
...

Night in the valleys of shadows
The darkness engulfing me
Way lost and stuck in the dark caves
Unable to flee from the suffering
...

She was sat by the window side
Reminiscing about the time
Time they had together
She thought it'd be forever
...

The thoughts of it gets darker
The more we think about it
We only ignore the fact,
And forget what it really is
...

Ode To A Friend

You said you'd be gone
Only for a while
It's been years
Yet you haven't returned
You have taught us
To do the things
We couldn't do without you
Although we miss you
We can't get our message
Passes to you ‘cos
The land which you are gone
Is a land of no return
Wish we could have
Just one more touch
Of your gentle hands
And feel the warmth
Of you being around
Oh my friend I cried!
I felt my heart break
Having the realization
That you had succumbed
To cold death.
