A Family Breakdown Poem by Patricia Denise Newman

A Family Breakdown

A breakdown in the family
Such a sorry, sad affair
But no-one knows or understands
What it was that brought you there
So many people in this world
Have no family at all
Due to wars or accidents
There's no-one they can call
Remember all the happier times
You shared with each other
For all the friendships you now have
Cannot replace a brother
Heal the rift and become again
The family you once knew
Time passes very quickly
It never waits for you
