In these dark and dismal days
when all around is doom and gloom
Let us seek some simple ways
to spread a little happiness and zoom

A smile is still the guarantee
to cheer a dismal, doleful face
even when there seems to be
no answer to our problem's case

we watch autumn's leaves begin to fall
or face again winter's bleakest cold
knowing that spring will surely call
and warmer days will soon unfold

Mother nature can be cruel
and make us worried by her mood
changes to our use of fuel
has impacted our growth of food

As our leaders seek a way
to answer all these man-made trials
we must pull together every day
helping each other to find those smiles

Although it seems so trite to say
when people face such dreadful fear
that we can always find a way
to overcome these times so drear

Try to keep a cheerful thought
however difficult this may be
there's beauty in our world and ought
to make us glad for what we see
