Of his own eloquence he seemed fond-
Pompous style, infected, orotund,
Spoken with a round mouth
That was oft not so couth,
Oh what with hisbody so rotund.
_________________________________________________________
Rotund and orotund are derived from the same Latinroot.
But the two do not mean the same. There's a difference.
Orotund is made from ore (mouth) and rotund round, podgy)
It refers to pompous speechmade with around mouth.
But it does not necessarily mean by a rotund or fat man.
This limerick was inspired by a flesh and blood man in politics.
