A Friend's Brother Poem by Udaya R. Tennakoon

A Friend's Brother

Rating: 4.0

In a small heart
A big vacuum to be bared
Burden and feelings of things shake it
Sometimes by a cyclone

The day begins in dawn
And gets up in morning
It exists with hopes
On the way to noon

For the end till the dark
Pages of life turn in to past
An accident at the mid never thought
Shredded and gone giving a shock and pain

Life of nature is not a nature of life
Though the Birth, standing and broken is the law
At the noon of the age in the sleeping bed
Untold reason took the life away

The nature of sudden departure
In the unnecessary time of the day
Gives a Pain and pricks by pin
To the heart of rest of beloved ones

The opening stanza with a cyclonic wind hidden within a small heat prepares us for the disruptions in the course of the poem. The morning dawns brightly but something goes wrong almost immediately, as if there is a moral flaw in the world which makes the best hopes wither before being allowed to flourish. Good things have no stability in this world, they collapse. Hope fails, but will be reborn again and again, because rebirth is its nature.

One needs a strong mind to view the death in nature's perspective and understand the reality. Your poem is inspiring and interesting. Enjoyed.
