It was such a shop
Where you could buy things only for the future,
I saw many an unmarried boys and girls
Buy rings, toys and baby trousers.
It was such a shop
Where you could buy things only for the future
I saw some handsome young men and vivacious women
Buy wedding ornaments for their little daughters.
I then saw a septuagenarian come
Who said he was suffering from terminal cancer
He ordered a coffin for himself
And smiled triumphantly before his final transfer.
The bitter-sweet truth of life, written somehow in a cheerful spirit, depicted in the last stanza.
