A Fumigation Poem by Rajesh Thankappan

A Fumigation

Rating: 5.0

Let us fumigate the air
And purge it from all bigotry fear
So that birds of all feather can sing
Songs that they to their heart hold dear.

Let us no more build barriers
With mortars of fear and hate
Let us unfurl the flag of freedom
And allow it to flutter free to steer our fate.

O my countrymen let us awake,
Wake up to the Tagore’s clarion call -
And build bridges of harmony
For doesn't this country belong to us all?

Great and noble writing, Rajesh-ji. Yes - our country belongs equally to all our countrymen and there is no question of a majority or minority there. There are only Indians. Indians first and Indians last.
