A Glass Of Ice Water Poem by Juan Olivarez

A Glass Of Ice Water

A glass of ice water,
So crystal clear.
On a hot August day,
Just has no peer.

A glass of ice water,
So smooth going down,
Right past the lips,
Oh that gurgling sound.

A glass of ice water,
Will ne'er meet it's match.
Pour me another,
Right down the hatch.

The simplicity of this poem makes it so real. I used to live in West-Texas, and understand the heat, and the way a cool glass of water refreshes like nothing else can. Good poem Juan!
