A Good Friend - Poem by Olivia Royston

A Good Friend
A good friend is always there for you, someone you can trust
They’ll always be beside you even after you got beat up on the bus
A good friend knows what will cheer you up after a long and stressful day
And knows just what to tell you when you’re not so cheery and gay
They tell you when you’ve changed a lot and help keep you in line
They never stray away from you for some brand new hot guy
A good friend is someone who’s there for you; you’ll laugh and talk all day
And never crush your heart any more when your boyfriend just “ran away”
You two can go shopping together, go into ever store
She’s the only one who will truly tell you you just shouldn’t wear that anymore
At the end of the school year she’ll hold you tight in a friendly embracing hug
And you’ll run home to tell your family about your best old trusty bud
