A Good Question Poem by Mamta Agarwal

A Good Question

Why do you
Roll down the window
At every red light,
To give small change
To outstretched hands?

Why encourage
Begging, I feel enraged.

Don’t worry
I have a keen eye
And instinctively
Know who are really needy

It makes me
Less guilty.
When I pray
I am always
Asking God for something

What, when my turn
Came in the queue,
He said, run
I have nothing
Left for you.
