A Hamper Of Despicables Poem by Hebert Logerie

A Hamper Of Despicables

Rating: 5.0

Sometimes, one must tell it like it is
No euphemism, no political correctness
Why apologize when the truth is
Being told? Why not go after the nest
Of the deplorables: the sexist, the racist
The ignorant, the hate-mongers…
Why chase them with a spoon?
Because they are not afraid to attack
The Blacks, the Jews, the foreigners
With guns, knives, forks, batons
You name it. They love to distract
In order to fool others with their propaganda
They poison the human mind
Why being gentle and kind
To racist goons, to followers of Hitler?
Don't bother, call them by their proper
Names: "racist, sexist, xenophobic
Homophobic, Islamaphobic…"
You forgot to add: hypocrites, backstabbers
Supremacists, jerks, hate-mongers…
Sometimes, you have no choice
But to tell the truth, like it is
Of course, they're trying to confuse
The American People, by mixing
Things to create more chaos
And paranoia. All Americans have roots
Outside of the United States of America
The hypocrites send young soldiers to wars
Upon returned, they're neglected and ignored
America is the land, the oasis of Immigrants
Where compassionate breed and live
Somehow, we all have known or unknown
Roots abroad. America is black, white, and brown
Yellow and many more: she is a melting pot
A few bad apples are using the flag to rot
To confuse many innocent and decent citizens
Of the U.S. Those red rats behave like chickens
With no head, no brain, no common sense
It's a shame that they believe in nepotism, violence
Discrimination, inequality, division, hate, lies
Bullying, segregation, back-stabbing, and denials
In lieu of a basket, we need a hamper, something bigger
Wider, longer to house them, praying that they'll be wiser
To vote for the candidate who preaches progress, diversity
Liberty, freedom, love, intelligence, compassion, and unity
Expose the lies, we will win
The campaign with no pain.
