A Hypocrite I'm! Poem by Namita Rani Panda

A Hypocrite I'm!

Rating: 5.0

Praised I'm highly for scribbling lines
On the greatness of a loving mother
But when I ponder deeper
My conscience says, "What a hypocrite you're!
Your son is wriggling on the hospital bed
And you're boasting to be a great teacher! "

I share all my sorrows and joys with my friends
And declare that my friendship is unique and has no end
But when I ponder deeper
my conscience says, " What a hypocrite you're!
Your friends' happiness and peace you never care,
You drown them in your ever-melting heart
Without knowing their absorbing capacity and what actually
they want."

I boast of his unconditional love
For which I can fly fearlessly up in the sky above
But when I ponder deeper
My conscience says, "What a hypocrite you're!
You pretend to be a perfect life partner
But it is crystal clear, in between family and career what you
prefer."

Nowadays I don't dare to look at the mirror,
The image of hypocrisy is really an epitome of horror.
