A Lesson Of Life Poem by Namita Rani Panda

A Lesson Of Life

" O' my owlet, my little heart!
Why do you look so upset?
You're my darling, my loving son.
Please tell me what makes you moan."

O' my loving mom answer my question
Are we God's ominous children?
Why can't I look at the Sun?
Why can't I play in the morn? "

" O' my dear be calm and cool!
God is great and ever merciful.
Unique and special is everyone,
we're blessed with the silvery moon."

"O' my mom tell me the truth,
why are we called the messengers of death?
Do you like my ghostly look?
Why didn't you make me a pretty peacock? "

"You're my life, my source of cheer
How can you be death's messenger?
Your pretty look and sweet purr
are mine only priceless treasure.

You're unique with your binocular vision
Do the peacocks have sharp telons?
With your special binaural hearing
you're exceptional O' my darling."

"But I want the warmth! I want the light!
Let me go out and snatch our right.
Why should they have bright day light?
Why do we suffer in darkest nights? "

"I know my child you're brave and smart
but you can manage without light
They can't survive without light
So give them light and never fight."

"Then tell me why we spend solitary life
and despised with lots of strife.
I'm chased and pelted with stones
and they're called supreme creations! "

"Don't you remember the tales I tell?
The sages live life so tranquil
that makes them wise and insightful.
So we're called cool wise owls.

God has gifted us with a blissful world
which is far better than the human world
where without reason they kill one another.
They brood over the past and worry for future.

Let's celebrate life in the lap of Nature
being happy with whatever we are.
Night or light it matters the least,
learn to sacrifice and live to the fullest."
