A Kiss Left In Poetry Poem by Thoughts of a Single Man

A Kiss Left In Poetry

Rating: 3.8

The diagram left in our words

expands like the map to our hearts

the road we travel on now

is full, lush, green, and plush

like the endless forests of the mind

all the pain and sorrow

is left behind us now

washed away like footprints on the beach

that meet the rolling tide

fading waning fleeting flickering

like a candle in the cool crisp air

that extinguishes distant memories

you have brought me gentle comfort

in the way only those who know humble grace

and what the touch of the fingers of fate create

es it evolves before the seeing eye

like the flash and the crash

when lightning strikes the severed ground

and produces the same sound now heard

when my pen descends upon the empty page

we are beyond mere words now

our connection is that strong

that deep

that your image finds me in the depths of my sleep

I waited for what has been to me an eternity

for the one to share my lonely song

you saved me from my sentenced solace

rescued me from my destiny of old

and with delicate fingers pulled me from that bitter cold

I am lost in your eyes

longing for you

to hold you close to me

let our story now be told of the searching two

that came together as one

and kissed so sweetly in the slivered shimmers

held within the trickles of weeping joy

sharing love's nectar on the pages of tomorrow

, meet me there and warm me with your touch

as we bathe in the waters of dripping affection

let us love beneath the hanging moon

dancing to the lovers tune

until we wake together

in the warming rays cast in the dawn of the rising sun

find the path to my heart left in these words

torn from the soul of the scripting man

and when the whispered verse is heard

you shall know it was me my love

that woke you in the middle of the slumbering night

and wet your cheek ever so softly

and adorned it with the tender print

of a kiss left in poetry
