A Lesson From Bulacan Poem by Krysten Palen

A Lesson From Bulacan

After Pangasinan, to Bulacan we did go,
Mama longed for her brother, and Papa said so.
Six hours of travel, the road felt so wide,
Exhausted I was, yet joy was inside.

This is my uncle's home, so grand and refined,
Among all the siblings, he's ahead in his climb.
Whenever we visit, the welcome feels pure,
A room of our own, with comfort secure.

To see Mama smiling, embracing her kin,
Reminds me of bonds I will cherish within.
One day with my siblings, I hope to replay,
A closeness like this that will never decay.

A karaoke hall, with cool air to sing,
Our laughter and voices made melodies ring.
My parents sang love, their theme from the start,
"Till Death Do Us Part, " straight from the heart.

The meals were divine, by the maid's gentle hand,
I praised her with joy, for the flavors so grand.
The house stood so tall, with cars in the sun,
My uncle then shared how success must be won:

"Have vision, ambition, let passion burn bright,
Never give up till your dream takes its flight.
That's the true secret, the path to your peak,
The life that you long for is yours when you seek."

I feel truly blessed in these moments so dear,
With lessons for life and my parents so near.
A memory treasured, forever to stay,
A beacon of love guiding my way.
