A Lesson In Living Poem by Daya Nandan

Life can get complicated at the worst of times,
Suddenly giving us great challenges sometimes,
Sometimes you have no idea where to go or what to do,
Leaving you stressed under the daylight sky so blue,

Lots of times people just let themselves get lost,
Covering their bodies and minds in petrifying frost,
Dropping into a wide open, almost endless abyss,
A place of depression and fear, a place devoid of bliss,

But that is why we have to keep trying to escape these situations,
We have to escape our fears to build up new foundations,
Foundations of optimism, courage and persistence,
To fight fear and doubt with a strong resistance,

We have to push through all that hurts and troubles our mind,
So that our hidden potential within is the treasure that we find,
Work past all our bad memories that are haunting us endlessly,
So that we grow stronger physically, mentally and spiritually!
