A Letter To Dear Granny - Poem by Skhy Cressell

Dear Granny,

I know there is nothing I can say to make up for what I did to you. Stealing your medication, even though accidental, was wrong. I cannot change the past, but I definitely can promise you it never, never, never will happen again.

I am sure my mother has told you by now about my unfortunate problem. I am now going to a clinic and getting proper help; however, I was on my own before that and deathly afraid. I had only meant to take a few Xanax from you, but then I put the bottle in my bag during the rush I was in. Regardless though, stealing is wrong and I am in the wrong for doing so.

I hope that one day you will have it in your heart to forgive me. I will not be able to forgive myself until I know that you and I are on OK terms. Granny, you are the one who stayed with me when mother was sick. You took care of me. I love you, and I just want you to love me back again.

Your granddaughter,
SKHY WYLIE
