A Letter To Life Poem by Adams King

A Letter To Life

Oh! life, how sweet how bitter
have you been to me
sometimes you treat me better
sometimes so mean

There were days of salty tears
also days of sugary smiles
They were night to hard to bear
birthing hope littered with lies

Many are my goals unachieved
the insatiable needs of man
yet somehow I feel so fulfilled
for you brought me this far

Oh! death, happily shall I embrace
without an ounce of fear to die
Far have I jorneyed in this race
to entertain the greed for life

I have been life's lover for long
it's time I break the vow
Oh I depart with a happy song
To master death, now I bow

Dear life, I have lost a dear friend
through much peace and pains
but to meet a more dearer end
until I'm crowned to live again
