A Lonely Valetine Poem by Adams King

A Lonely Valetine

Rating: 3.8

Just like words without no sounds
Like a boxing match without no rounds
Like a football game without referees
We are not chained yet we are never free
I don't understand anymore my love
Why call me heartthrob when we break no law

Just like a song we are scared to sing
Like a crown meant for no queen nor king
Like a smoke yet there never was a fire
We are on mountains yet we never climb high
I don't understand anymore my dear
What is valentine when we down with fear

Just like a story that knows no end
Like a dead man don't have a friend
I wonder why your are not here
I'm still breathing and can drag in air
I don't understand anymore my valentine
What you call sacrifice without your time

Just like a road that never lead one home
I have been searching for a new throne
Just like a heart that needs amends
I have been hunting for who to take my hands
But I don't understand my Honeybunch
What you did to me that I love you so much

Just like a secret we never tell our friends
Like a helpful hand we never tend to rend
Like a water that quenches no man's thirst
It's like putting the last before the first
I don't understand what you going through
But if you claim you love me then say you do

Just like a heart overwhelmed with pains
I'm here all alone, I'm lonely again
I wonder what will be your excuse this time
Will it be your unfinished work or traffic jam
I don't understand how you think I feel
When I have a man and he's not here with me
