A Letter To You Poem by Kenneth Maswabi

A Letter To You

In my moment of despair
I saw you running away
In my moment of joy
I saw you embracing my being
How long can we play this game?
How long can we keep this act?
I have been to the other end of sorrow
There isn't much to fear
I have been to the other end of joy
There isn't much to taste
How long can we play this game?
How long can we keep this act?
I send you this letter today
To inform you that
I have been to the dungeon of sorrow
I held the blanket of despair in my hands
There is nothing underneath
It's all an illusion
I have been to the summit of joy
I tasted the crust of joy
Like snow, it's tasteless
Now I know you
You are the fibre of my being
Let us celebrate the path of life together
Regardless of joy or sorrow
Let's find our oneness
And be united by the ribbon of Love
I love you always
