Little Town Man
It's the joy of waking to bird sounds
The way a morning sun warms through a window
The aroma of a brewing coffee
And that smile on her face
The lack of congestion and ugly noise
People unknown waving enthusiastically
The verandah is my stage where music plays
Big towns are just a memory now
A memory little missed
Vegetable gardens in neat rows
Fruit trees in blossom
Slight breezes bringing in the meadow smells
All around me peace and panoramas
Oh! The joy of simply being
A little Town Man
