A Long Overdue Piece Of Justice For Us Poem by Hebert Logerie

A Long Overdue Piece Of Justice For Us

It is an important piece of JUSTICE
The conviction of such a criminal cop
Who had sworn to serve and protect us
All of us, regardless of race, gender or crop
This has been a long awaited piece of peace
This has been a long overdue piece of JUSTICE
Cops are not hired to be executioners, murderers
Or avengers. Cops should be law enforcers and protectors
Of life. Guilty, guilty and guilty for murder, murder
And murder for committing heinous crimes
Life is precious. Don't start counting your stupid dimes
Because life is priceless. Minorities' lives matter
We all love our friends, cousins, sisters, brothers, and mother
And father, who, naturally and of course, matter to us
We want more than scattered pieces of justice
We want the whole picture. We want to be treated fairly, rightly
Or justly and that's not demanding or asking for too much
We want a victory for all us and that's not really too much
We want to love good enforcers of the law: good cops
And at the same time, the bad ones that are like old craps
Must be discarded or repudiated. We want JUSTICE for all
Regardless of the shade in winter, spring, summer and fall.
