A Lost Horizon Poem by Eisenlord Karen

A Lost Horizon

A lost horizon and a barren ship
Adrift upon waves of salt water
My ungrounded mind tries to grip
Onto something solid, concrete matter

The irony is that water surrounds me
But my soul is utterly wretched and dry
A taste of the liquid from this endless sea
Would mean my last breath and I would die

My home afloat upon a fluid foundation
Is growing smaller with each and every day
The more I wail out my pain and indignation
My intellect grows weak with less to say

My destiny seems to be in my isolation
Upon this infinite, groundless blue orb
Helpless to the elements I cry to Creation
Where are the Angels, Heaven and my Lord?

Break me free of this endless cruel circle
The way out of this water-logged cross
Bring me a taste of mercy and a miracle
Show me, where is my White Albatross?

I wrote the poem 'Becalmed A Sailor's Death By Dehydration', inspired by the poem 'A Lost Horizon', by the poet Karen Eisenlord and dedicated to Karen Eisenlord.

An insightful bit of verse nicely crafted with poetic rhyme and rhythm.

'A lost horizon and a barren ship Adrift upon waves of salt water' wonderful imagery of desolation, with hints of 'The Rime Of The Ancient Mariner, turned in a twist with the final stanza 'Break me free of this endless cruel circle The way out of this water-logged cross Bring me a taste of mercy and a miracle Show me, where is my White Albatross? '

Break me free of this endless cruel circle The way out of this water-logged cross Bring me a taste of mercy and a miracle Show me, where is my White Albatross? praying to escape from desperation..... very often we all experience such situtions in life........ conquering it with great determination and prayer is the medicine...... get into contact with God in silence, deep meditation and prayer..
