Had I been born a Buddhist
My perception of religion would have been different
Had I been born an American
My perception of world polity would have been different
Had I been born a female
My perception of gender would have been different
Had I been born a Chinese
My perception of taste would have been different
Had I been born a native African
My perception of race would have been different
Had I been born in the past or future
My perception of the reality would have been different
Had I been born into a different species
My perception of the world would have been different
So is not life a baby of skewed perceptions
Zoomed in through the prism of our birth?
A very thought provoking write, , our families and cultures define us as people and life experiences can make or break us, but if we open our minds to be tolerant of other religions, nationalities etc is to allow ourselves to be free of prejudice and hate! Superb write!
Very true said. The last two lines posing a question, and embedding the answer as well.

Very thought-provoking. It is our situations that make us. But, if we are to live intelligently, we need to be careful about imposing our skewed perceptions on others.
