A Merciless Lady Love Poem by Dibakar Purkayastha

A Merciless Lady Love

Oh merciless woman!
When driven to frenzy,
aware how sharp is the pain
When a passionate love is betrayed,
The hearts of men
Were led to dwell upon
Thoughts of sorrowful omen.

Oh merciless woman!
Whom should I fear?
Death is already my doom
I should have fired your den
Set your all memories ablaze
Blotted out of my mind your camadiaries
And finally flung myself into uncertainty.

Oh merciless woman!
All relics once dear
When heaven and fate disallowed
My union with you
Then receive my life and
Relive me from this woe
forget all illustrious dream we built
Now meaningless to you and let me die
Thus, thus do I gladly go into darkness?

Oh the heartless woman!
You will gaze on my funeral pyre
That will soar towards sky
Persue with all your hatred
Let there be no love, no league
Of memories to unite us both
But pay tributes to me when I am but dust
Thus, allow me to go gladly into darkness.
